⒈  指旧时以谦恭为德柄。语本《易·系辞下》：“谦，德之柄也。”孔颖达疏：“言为德之时以谦为用，若行德不用谦，则德不施用。是谦为德之柄，犹斧刃以柯柄为用也。”高亨注：“谦虚始能执德。”
